I never understood this reverse engineering concept (which, yes, I've
heard before). I guess I'm too much of a Chomskyite to think it would be
possible.

Then again, there is a definite change of mindset when you adopt the
language and the world of a profession like, say, the law.

The Tower of Babel is still my favorite myth from that otherwise
misbegotten collection.
