Imagine this: Each meme isn't a solid particle, but rather a wave. Some
cause interference patterns with others. How do you apply "mutually
exclusive" to a waveform?

Could be a dangerous question (above). Theory says that nothing can have an
identity unless it is mutually exclusive...whether measured by effect,
cause, origin, destination, or some other means.
