I am convinced that many so-called "religious" wars are really about land.
The problem in the Middle East is a land problem - it just so happens that
one side is Muslim and the other Jewish. Even when countries with the same
religion fight over land they bring in religion : The Iran/Iraq war was
over land but each country rallied its populace with religious differences.
Iranians are mostly Shiites while Iraqis are mostly Sunnites.

When George Bush decided to take back Kuwait, he implied it was a religious
war : Saddam is obviously the Devil.
