KMO,
which Ministry song are you speaking of??? I'm also a fan of that
wonderfully anarchistic band. :)
Aside from that, I have to comment that the youth of today (I'm 29) is no
different than that of my generation.
What we should be drawing our attention to is this-Kids, nowadays, are the product of a society driven by fierce competition. And if you don't fit into the model of this type of society, whether its in sports or academics, then you're bound to feel dejection, sorrow, even anger. Look at what the US has to offer: Michael Jordan - multi-millionaire b-ball player, Bill Gates - power-hungry software developer, and Bill Clinton - a man of compromised principles and morality, just to name a few. While as a learned adult, I understand the drive to succeed and what you need to do in order to keep life sane and happy. But, a teen has to feel an extreme amount of pressure to try to live up to their parents ideals and aspirations for their children.
And we ask ourselves why do these teenagers do this??? Get a clue USAyou' re creating these kids, undersupervising them, and expect them to come out as clean and nice as we are. What we need to do is stop blaming the media, games, or the internet. Kids, nowadays, come home to empty houses, are told what not to do (read into this-a lack of encouragement), and when the family does get together everyone seems to do their own thing-never attending to each other for help or support.
Well, I've gotten that off my chest....and hello to everyone out
there - esp. Sodom. Hey there bud!
Thanks,
Casey
