Indeed, you are correct; a collective effort would hold the only chance of success. The representatives could then be labelled 'prophets' (a much safer title)..and you are well reasoned to say that we must stay within certain parameters regarding accepted religous methods or claims. Obviously we will want to, as you mentioned, 'preach' benevolent aims etc... In addition we should consider linking our movement by means of encrypted aspects of our religion to other current major belief systems... i.e. special numbers, locations, pattern developements etc...so as to kind of hitch ours on to the others and slowly drain away their followers.. truly a virus in this case. preconstruct a probable time-table of 'discovered' relationships with the old gods and insert the necessary elements into our framework. Perhaps we can save humanity a lot of time regarding social evolution...in the long run.
