[Blunderov] You have my sympathies, America. Your society is a lot like apartheid South Africa.
globalresearch Political Persecution in America: Antiwar Activist and Movie Producer Arrested
Global Research, July 26, 2007 Prison Planet
These arrests reported by Prison Planet coincide with the announcement of Bush's Executive Order entitled "Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq". This executive order provides the President with the authority to confiscate the assets of whoever opposes the US led war.
Loose Change Producer Korey Rowe Arrested
Iraq, Afghanistan veteran handed over to military officials by police under charges of "deserting the Army" Paul Joseph Watson Prison Planet Wednesday, July 25, 2007
Loose Change producer and Iraq and Afghanistan veteran Korey Rowe has been arrested and handed over to military officials without bail for allegedly "deserting the Army".
According to a report in the New York Daily Star, Rowe was arrested on Monday night at a county Route 47 residence in Oneonta. Rowe was arrested on a "military warrant" that Devlin said was brought to the attention of deputies by the Oneonta Police Department, who received information from a source outside of that department.
Rowe was living at the Route 47 home, Devlin said.
City police officials who were able to comment on the case were unavailable Tuesday night.
After deputies received the information from Oneonta police, they reached out to the Army, and officials from Fort Knox faxed a copy of the warrant, deputies said. Arrests and court martials for deserters are incredibly rare and this appears to be an obvious case of political persecution as the Loose Change crew prepare the cinematic release of the final version of their popular documentary.
Rowe enlisted in the Army in August 2001 and left in June 2005. He has been out of the Army for over two years. He was previously arrested under similar circumstances but was immediately released.
Alex Jones interviewed Rowe at a conference in Chicago last year (watch above), during which he exposed how CNN and the military would stage photo-ops to make it appear as if Al-Qaeda members were being killed in Afghanistan, along with a host of other cover-ups and atrocities.
We will continue to update this story with new developments as they come in.

[Blunderov]Didn't there used to be something in the American constitution about being allowed to freely assemble and partition the government? Oh, "petition"? Well that might be good too...

US anti-war group ordered to take down Iraq demo posters Wed Aug 15, 4:43 PM ET WASHINGTON (AFP) - A US anti-war group has been warned it will be fined 10,000 dollars if it does not remove posters in Washington announcing a march in the capital next month against US involvement in Iraq, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.
"The ANSWER Coalition has received citations from the authorities in Washington threatening to fine us 10,000 dollars unless several hundred posters announcing the September 15 march on Washington DC are removed," Sarah Sloan, the staff coordinator for the anti-war group, told AFP.
"We have until Thursday to take down the posters," she said.
Several hundred yellow posters have been put up around Washington announcing the protest, which is timed to coincide with the release of a report by the US military commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, on progress in the US "surge" strategy of raising troop levels.
Washington city authorities said the posters have to come down because they were stuck on with adhesive that did not meet city regulations.
"The charge about adhesives is false," Sloan said.
"This is a definitely a calculated political move aimed at disrupting the demonstration, which has been organised on a day when the world's eyes will be on Washington for the Petraeus report," she said.
Demonstrators from at least 90 cities around the United States and Canada have already pledged to come to Washington for the march, which will be part of a week of anti-war protests led by veterans of the Iraq war, according to Sloan.
A petition calling for the impeachment of President George W. Bush, allegedly carrying one million signatures and endorsed by former US attorney general Ramsey Clark, will also be submitted to officials during the week's activities.

[Blunderov] More of the same.
En passant, the Democrats are probably even more morally corrupt than the Republicans. At least you know where you stand with a Republican, usually. Democrats on the other hand will lie to your face that they will stop the war if you vote for them. Then they go to Congress and feather their political nests instead. Ron Paul for president. Fuck the Democrats.

Democracy is Dead, It's Movement Time (Part 2) by Margaret Kimberley | Sep 19 2007 - 1:58pm | article tools: email | print | read more Margaret Kimberley
From Black Agenda Report
"Arrest Bush, not Rev., and this co-dependent Congress as well." - Rev. Lennox Yearwood
Anyone needing proof of democracy's demise must witness the government assault perpetrated on Rev. Lennox Yearwood. Yearwood attempted to attend a Congressional hearing open to the public, where Gen. David Petraeus testified that the killing in Iraq must go on as scheduled.
Yearwood is an Air Force reservist, and was the only black person lined up to enter the hearing room. Capitol police, some of them black, determined who would receive the few tickets distributed to the public. Yearwood, wearing a button proclaiming "I love the people of Iraq" was told he could not attend the hearing. When he protested, without violence or threat, he was literally beaten down. He later referred to his assault and arrest as DWB, Democracy While Black.
There was no outcry from the people who are supposed to defend democracy. There was no statement of protest from the Congressional Black Caucus, no demand for an investigation. Democracy is drawing its last breath.
The attack on Yearwood provides an important lesson in building a new movement. Activism must be disassociated from the machinations of politicians who aid and abet the Bush terror machine. Indeed, many members of Congress must be sent packing, even those who once honestly claimed a progressive mantle. Every member of Congress who has impeded impeachment investigations must face a challenge in the 2008 election. Congressman John Conyers has the power to begin impeachment hearings, but clearly has no intention of doing so. That is why his congressional career must come to an end along with Nancy Pelosi's and others. As Yearwood said, the co-dependent Congress must go too.
The hopelessness and uncertainty currently experienced by progressives can be neutralized by action and bold thinking. Instead of being told that they must find a way to make Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid do the right thing, they must be told that democracy will revive only when their actions are in direct opposition to those of the Democratic party.
Democrats have the power to end the occupation of Iraq now. It is not true that Reid needs a veto proof majority. If only 41 Senators maintain a filibuster they can prevent a bill from coming up for a vote. Reid has more than the 41 votes needed to stop any bill authorizing continued funding for the occupation.
If he won't use political capital to get members in line, it is because he doesn't want to. That fact is hardly news to anyone paying attention, but it is also proof that the conversation must change. Accepting politics as usual now means going further down the road to hell. If Reid doesn't stop Bush when he has the power to do so he is just as dangerous and must be resisted as well.
The fight to unseat ineffectual Democrats will bring vociferous criticism from many in progressive ranks. We will be told that Congressperson Jane or John Doe was righteous at a particular moment in history, that Republicans will laugh, that the press will criticize, that black members have precious seniority, or that progressive pundits will fret.
Fear of criticism and loyalty to enablers will hasten the oncoming disaster of a possible world war and an increasingly powerful authoritarian American state. John Conyers' seniority and Nancy Pelosi's wasted authority are neither worth saving nor justifications for silence.
The American people are about to be made complicit in an awful crime against humanity. An attack on Iran is in its planning stages and both houses of Congress have indicated that they will go along with only token, mealy mouthed opposition.
Bush and Cheney are already war criminals, and an attack on Iran that is not followed by massive public demonstration will make us their accessories. America will be compared to Nazi Germany, and rightly so. We will be asked what we knew and what we did to stop the carnage. A new attack on a nation that poses no danger to the country or the world should make Congress and the American people ashamed, but it won't. Some will cheerlead for death and others will make excuses for inaction. We will be exhorted to act like disappointed baseball fans and wait ‘till next year.
If we follow that awful advice, we deserve to be viewed like Germans in 1939. If members of Congress are not deluged with protest in Washington and in their districts and if Nancy Pelosi is not targeted for electoral defeat, then war criminals we will be. I for one will not carry that label without protest.
