Hmm, perhaps in all their (admitted) studies of us, their attempts to blend in, learning our languages, etc. "Meat" is simply the word which stood out from the English language for them? They adopted it for lack of said concept in their own language. It's probably not actually worth so much thought, but it's a fun little video. And a little thought-provoking which is nice.
