[Blunderov] http://atheism.about.com/b/a/042973.htm?terms=n541 <snip> November 18, 2003 Could America be moving, slowly, to a more fascist social and political system? Some people think so, and there is no question but that some developments in politics and political debate points the way towards fascism. Whether fascism actually develops or not is, of course, an open question - the presence of proto-fascist ideas and policies does not necessitate actual fascism. We should, however, be very concerned about these developments and look for ways to make sure that it doesn't get any worse... At this same time, Republican leaders have moved to eliminate Democrats from the exercise of political power. Democratic Representatives are no longer allowed to ask the White House how taxes are being used - only Republican heads of committees are allowed. This is an unprecedented change which makes it much more difficult for Democrats to effectively represent their constituents. In another move that the media hasn't reported on as much, Rep. Ralph Regula (R-Ohio), chair of the subcommittee that controls spending on education, health and jobs programs, announced that all projects requested by Democrats will be rejected out of hand. <snip> Best Regards

Fascism is "the convergence of military and economic power on behalf of an ultranationalist ideology that views its enemies -- internally and externally -- as evil and subject to extermination or extreme punishment." If this so, it is quite obvious that President Bush II is fascist. It's also interesting that instead of using the international court system, the homeland judicial system, or the U.S. military court system, America just went off to Afghanistan to eradicate the terrorists.
Even though many of us feel that these terrorists deserved to be killed, this so-called "war" was not justified by the deaths and destruction on 9.11. Is this the American Way? Kill or be killed, no questions asked?

<q> - QUOTATION OF THE DAY -
"With a heavy dose of fear and violence, and a lot of money for projects, I think we can convince people that we are here to help them." - LT. COL. NATHAN SASSAMAN, whose unit oversees the Iraqi village of Abu Hishma. </q> [Blunderov] This from today's NY Times. I suppose this is what they call 'tough love'?

<q> InfoBeat Entertainment [infobeat@list.euniverse.com]
WASHINGTON, Dec 07, 2003 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- The Secret Service wants to interview award-winning rapper Eminem over lyrics that could be perceived as threatening to President Bush, it was reported Sunday. The Drudge Report quoted government sources saying an interview with Eminem is imminent.
A track by the rapper that appeared on the Internet called "We As Americans," includes the lines:
"I don't rap for dead presidents/I'd rather see the president dead/It's never been said, but I set precedents and the standards, and they can't stand it!" </q> [Blunderov] Really, this is dangerous. I have seen this before. Trust me. Get rid of Bush ASAP. Please? Best Regards
