Memetic/evolutionary rewrite of Genesis

I've been asked how I would formulate a "creation" story if I did not accept the one in Genesis. First, I do not believe it is "creation," so it is not going to be a creation story. But in the spirit of the question if not the letter, I wrote an "origins story" I would accept. Several times I am quoting from Douglas Adams. It's quite long, so I'll provide a link to it instead of posting the whole thing. I felt it was appropriate to the Creative Endeavors forum because one of the chapters, "Evolution in History," is intended to be interpreted metaphorically. This demonstrates how I consider memetics to serve as a productive and enriching myth even if it were not to ultimately succeed as a scientific discipline.
