Hitler was all about using religious imagery and the Catholic Church even formed an alliance with the Third Reich. The alleged atheism of the Nazi's is a persistent lie which serves both to deflect criticism from theocrats and to vilify atheists. Persistent repetition is the lie's life blood, so persistent debunking is the only way to memetically fight back.
