Interesting idea, although I think it's based on fiction rather than actual fact. Mr Curry assumes that the genetic make-up of humans in the future will still be based on the genetic properties their biological parents possess, but if the human race indeed progresses technologically, as mr Curry thinks, then why wouldn't wealthy "upper-class" people simply go to a genetics clinic and choose all specifics of their child themselves?
I think genetic evolution will become obsolete as the human race routinely begins to erase all the minor genetic defects every person naturally possesses and perhaps enhance certain qualities as intelligence, attractiveness, absence of agressive behaviour etc etc.
Wouldn't a more realistic view of the future of mankind be the seperation of 'natural' humans who cannot afford to or choose not to use these genetic manipulations for their offspring from the 'lab' humans who are (supposed to be) genetically superior to the 'natural' humans?
