    I would like to know exactly what it would take to get the CoV registered
    as a recognized religion by the federal govt of the USA. This may require
    a combination of online and offline research.

    Look into incorporation as a non-profit organization. Also find an appropriate SIC code (http://www.census.gov/epcd/naics/NDEF813.HTM#N8131). If Wiccans can organize a legally recognized religion, www.homecircle.org, so can the CoV.
