This message is for all those in the Church of Virus who have been following
the "spat" with "Eugene@leitle.org" and to all those expressing support,
intervening and attempting to intervene in that situation - perhaps
especially to those Extropians who are also members of the CoV (and who
have, on the whole, been wondering what the hell has been going on).
I would suggest that the appended two posts deal with and in conjunction
with this one, hopefully, finally dismiss the concerns, unhappiness and
anger which has been displayed on both boards about the apparent "hostility"
between the communities and their members. Certainly I regret any doubts
about motivation which I had due to earlier non-repudiation by the Extropian
community, and can safely say that these notes more than satisfy David
Lucifer (and me) that the Extropians as a group do not have any difficulties
with, or animosity towards the Church of Virus, it members or David Lucifer.
I'd like to reciprocate and state that the Church of Virus and its members
bear neither the Extropians nor the Extropy Institute any ill-will
whatsoever.
For my part, my deep thanks to both Max More and Eliezer Yudkowsky for their
unambiguous statements on this matter, and particularly to Max for his
acknowledgement of the contributions made by David Lucifer to the
Extropians - which also reminds me that we possibly don't do sufficient
thanking here at the CoV.
So without further ado, on behalf of all Virians, I'd like to thank David
Lucifer for the awesome amount of work (and sponsorship) he has put into the
CoV over the years, and most particularly for the immense number of hours he
has and is putting into the BBS system.

As far as I know, no massive attack on the Church of Virus is contemplated by Extropians at large. It would be easier to get the entire population of Tokyo to wear matching outfits than to get ten Extropians to agree on pizza toppings. You could more easily extrapolate from Eugen to Germany than from Eugen to Extropianism; there's probably more total variation inside Extropianism.
