But maybe not enough on other planets? I was reading somewhere (sorry no
source) that some scientists think that the best way to prepare a planet, eg
Mars, for human habitation would be to infest that planet with thousands of
small, snake-shaped (so as to be able to go anywhere in any terrain) robots
capable of gathering raw materials and building yet other robots to perform
yet more specialised tasks in the transformation of the planet. So this
research may be essential in the survival of our species!
