[Kirk Steele] I'm curious about something. If the "To:" block of the
original message has "virus@Lucifer.com" in it, then why does it NEED to be
forwarded?
[Hermit]
Because if a post arrives after an unsubscription has taken effect, then it
will be forwarded to the list-owner to decide what to do with it.
In this case he decided to forward it to the group. Perhaps it is worth
taking it as a wake-up message. If all "the good guys" leave any group,
because they feel that it costs too much or that they don't enjoy it, there
will be no purpose to hanging around - as it will become suited only to
emotionalism, lunatics and spam, spam, spam. Visit any of what used to be a
good unmoderated forum on Usenet to see the result of anarchy when invaded
by fools. Rational people don't choose to deal with this. The Internet is a
big place indeed, and life is to full of good things to waste it on lamers.
The reason I - and a few others - are still here, is not because of the
cheerful intellectual discussions, but because we don't choose to be driven
from our sand-box. Not much af a reason for people simply trying the CoV on
for size. So I completely understand why Blunderov left. His investment was
smaller, but the feelings he spoke of are familiar.
Speaking of Blunderov, in my opinion, Blunderov was one of the more rational
members we have had - and undoubtedly he knew how to write in a way that few
here begin to approach. I wish I could say in a paragraph what he conveys in
a word. Should he not change his mind, he will be greatly missed, by me at
least.
